WHAT WE DO?
We initiate the tour at Beth-Israel Synagogue, its construction commencing in 1905 under Sultan Abdulhamid II’s edict, located in İzmir’s Karataş district, and inaugurated for service in 1907. This synagogue holds the distinction of being İzmir’s largest. Subsequently, we proceed to the ‘Elevator’ locale, passing through Dario Moreno Street, an homage to Dario Moreno—an Izmir enthusiast and artist of Jewish origin. Our subsequent destination is Havra Street, where several Small Synagogues, some over 400 years old, are situated.
This area lies in proximity to the Historical Kemeraltı Bazaar, offering a seamless transition from Havra Street to the Kemeraltı Bazaar. Another historical gem beckons: the Agora of Izmir. Established in the 4th century BC, the Agora underwent reconstruction with support from Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius following the earthquake in 178 AD. Our final stop encompasses Kadıfekale, also rich in historical significance.
Upon concluding our Jewish Heritage Day Trip (Private), we’ll facilitate your transfer.
