Situated in Izmir’s Karataş district, it opened its doors in 1907, holding the title of the city’s largest synagogue. Following this, we’ll visit the ‘Elevator,’ passing through Dario Moreno Street, honoring the Izmir-loving Jewish artist. Our journey continues to Havra Street, home to centuries-old Small Synagogues.
This area lies adjacent to the historic Kemeraltı Bazaar, with a seamless transition from Havra Street. Next, we’ll explore the Agora of Izmir, founded in the 4th century BC and rebuilt under Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius after the 178 AD earthquake.
