Iznik (The pre-historical name of this city is Nicaea). is the place where 228 bishops from all over the world attended in 325 AD and where the basic principles of the Christian religion were discussed and decided and It is where the first ecumenical (universal) council of Christianity gathered. Therefore, it is included in the history books as one of the 3 Most Important Cities of Christianity. Also, Iznik is the first Turkish capital in Anatolia. Iznik is currently located within the territory of the Republic of Turkey.

CONCEPT OF THE TOUR

You will be picked up from the hotel or pick-up point at 08:30 am with private transfer. We will pass the Asian side of Istanbul by driving by the Bosphorus bridge which has a stunning view. Driving to Iznik will take about 2 hrs. You will be able to see Nicaea Ayasophia Church (Orhan Ghazi Mosque), Lefke Gate, Iznik City Walls , Iznik Archaeological Museum, Lake of Iznik and Sunken Basilica, Also Most of the wall tiles of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul were made in Iznik and Kütahya, so we will visit the Iznik Tile Workshop.
